Ms. Lan is the founder and sole shareholder of PPIG and has served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman since its formation. Ms. Lan has spent over 40 years in the insurance industry and has earned the C.P.C.U. designation.
Robert Lan graduated from the University of Hawaii in 1988 after attending on a football scholarship. He began his insurance career in 1989 as a claims adjuster before transitioning into underwriting. In 1994 Robert started a ground-up commercial program with Sterling Casualty and joined UCA in 1996. Robert was named president of UCA in 2001 and his responsibilities include the day-to-day operations and direct oversight of the commercial underwriting division. Robert was named CEO in 2015.
Frank Stipati is a graduate of California State University of Dominguez Hills where he studied management and marketing. He began his insurance career in 1989 in loss control with Precision Risk Management and joined UCA’s underwriting department in 1990. Frank helped open UCA’s first branch office in Scottsdale AZ in 1994 and returned to California in 1996 to manage UCA’s San Diego Branch office. Frank was named Vice President of UCA in 2004 where he was responsible for overseeing all branch operations. In 2016 Frank was named President of UCA and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of UCA.
Jessica Lemon is a graduate of Fullerton College where she studied management and business administration. She began her insurance career in 1986 as Lead Rater/Coder with Nationwide Insurance Company. Soon after Nationwide relocated to Northern California she joined Continental Insurance Company as an underwriting assistant in their Agricultural department. Shortly thereafter she joined F.B Beattie as Junior Underwriter. Then in 1998 Jessica joined the UCA team as Underwriting Assistant and in 2002 was promoted to Underwriter. In early 2016 Jessica was promoted to Underwriting Manager where she is responsible for the underwriter operations for both the home office underwriters as well as the underwriting staff in all branch offices.
Barry Colburn began his insurance career in 1987 with Cigna and Chubb Insurance before joining Balboa Insurance where he remained for the next 8 years. He managed claims offices in Honolulu and Pittsburgh while with Balboa. Barry returned to Southern California and joined Precision Risk Management in 1997 as an auto claims adjuster. He was promoted to Manager and built the subrogation department from the ground up. Barry then took over as the manager of the personal lines unit for Pacific Pioneer Insurance Company for the next 3 years. In 2004, Barry turned his attention to the marketing of UCA General Insurance. In 2012 Barry was named Marketing Director where he is responsible for all branch operations with an emphasis on broker relationships, production numbers and loss results.
